About Failshot.

Your password is the first layer of security. We make the second.

A password keeps strangers out. Failshot shows you the person who got past it: whoever watched you type it, or already knew it. Whoever unlocks your Mac sees Failshot’s window, and the menu bar shows when it’s on.

Failshot for Mac came out in October 2026. iPhone, Android and Windows versions are on the way, and our roadmap shows what we’re building next.

What we believe

  • Your device, your data. Photos stay on your Mac until you choose to send them, and what goes to the web vault is encrypted so we can’t open it.
  • You hold the key. Switching Failshot off takes Touch ID, or your Failshot PIN and answer. Never your Mac password, however well someone knows it.
  • Plain words. We say exactly what Failshot does, in sentences anyone can check.
